How personal responsibility can help to create more social responsibility and sustainability?

The 20th IRDO International Conference was (in two days) cocreated by more than 100 authors from more than 10 countries, with 56 contributions.

(12 June 2025, Slovenia) The 20th IRDO International Conference: INNOVATIVE, SUSTAINABLE & SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE SOCIETY 2025: Personal responsibility as a part of social responsibility and sustainability, was held from 11 to 12 June 2025 in Slovenia, online. More than 100 authors with 56 papers from more than 10 countries from different countries around the globe co-created this conference. The organizers of the conference were IRDO – Institute for the Development of Social Responsibility, the University of Maribor, Faculty of Economy & Business Um, the Slovenian Society for Systems Research (SdSr), and WOSC with several supporting partners. The conference was co-financed by the Youth Office of the Republic of Slovenia, and sponsored by Medis-M, Atlas Express and Press Clipping.

   

   

At the opening of the 20th International IRDO Conference welcome speech to participants gave Prof. Dr. Polona Tominc, Dean University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business, Prof. Emeritus Dr. dr. Matjaž Mulej, President of IRDO Research and Expert Council and President of the Conference Program Board, Anita Hrast, MSc., Manager of IRDO Institute and President of the Conference Organizational Board, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Igor Perko, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor, Vice – President of the Conference Program Board.

   

   

In two days, participants and authors, among them more than 30 students, discussed about Personal responsibility as a part of social responsibility and sustainability.  Among authors were also researchers and leading experts, who engaged in thought-provoking discussions, and explored innovative solutions that address some of the most critical issues of our time.

   

Dr. Perko said about the conference: “In the 20th IRDO International Conference, 132 academics, experts, seniors and students from more than 10 countries contributed to bringing together important topics on social responsibility, personal engagement, institutional frameworks and support initiatives and learning mechanisms, responsibility in the digital world. The conference purpose is what it does, it serves as a melting pot of experiences, systems thinkers, cyberneticians, experts, academics and students, mostly those, born in the digital age, eager to understand the mechanisms, which could steer the personal (digital) responsibility in the direction on a sustainable path toward responsible society. We are especially proud to have welcome enthusiastic groups of students, also examining the (un)sustainable paths of Digitalisation and introducing building blocks of personal and digital responsibility.”
